In 2020, a massive rainfall hit Sudan and caused a devastating flood. 17 states were affected where the recorded water level of the Nile was never seen before for 100 years. More than 3,000,000 people were affected, 100,000 + homes destroyed, and 100 + people were dead. Therefore, the Sudanese government declared a state of emergency. SOS Sahel Sudan was one of the organizations that responded to provide help.
