Strengthening Food Security in Rain-Fed Areas

SOS Sahel is pleased to announce the successful completion of the training workshop on “Food System Resilience,” held  in Kosti, White Nile State, from March 9th to 10th, 2025. The workshop was conducted as part of the “Strengthening Inclusive Partnerships in Rain-Fed Areas” (SIPRA) project, in collaboration with the Ministry of Production and Wageningen University & Research. The workshop witnessed the distinguished presence of various departments of the Ministry of Production, representatives of targeted communities, the Chamber of Transportation and Freight, banks, agricultural service centers, and actors in the agricultural sector. The workshop fully achieved its objectives, identifying food systems in the state, shocks and stresses, food system resilience, socio-economic and environmental drivers, and opportunities and challenges for creating goods and products from local crops, primarily sorghum, wheat, and sesame
