Integrated Humanitarian Response for IDPs, Returnees, and Host Communities – Funded by CAFOD – Darelsalam Locality, NDS

Rehabilitation of the Girls’ School Latrine at the IDP Shelter Center:

SOS Sahel Sudan has rehabilitated the school latrine at the Girls’ School Shelter Center in Dar El Salam town. This intervention forms part of the Humanitarian Response Project supporting IDPs, returnees and host communities which funded by CAFOD.

The rehabilitation aims to improve sanitation, safety and dignity for girls and vulnerable households residing in the IDPs shelter center. Works included repairing the latrine structure, restoring water access and ensuring proper hygiene conditions that meet humanitarian standards.

Improved WASH facilities are essential in displacement settings, where overcrowding heightens health risks and protection concerns. By enhancing sanitation services, this intervention contributes to better health outcomes and safer living conditions for women, girls and vulnerable families.

This activity reflects SOS Sahel Sudan commitment to supporting crisis‑affected communities through integrated, life‑saving humanitarian interventions across North Darfur state in particular and Sudan in general.
