SDN-PCJR5 – Sudan Protracted Crisis Join Response 5 Project in NDS, Darelsalam localitylam locality

During the current Sept, SOS Sahel Sudan carried out a key agricultural support activity in Alawna Village. These activities focused on training the target small farmers on seeds bank management followed by distribution of agriculture improved seeds. Generally, the intervention strengthening community seed systems and enhancing farmers’ access to improved agricultural inputs. Key Outputs of the Intervention are listed below:

  • Community Seed Systems Strengthened and well managed by farmer group
  • Availability of quality seeds at community level increased
  • Access to Agricultural Inputs enhanced specially the traditional seed varieties
  • Linkages between farmers and input suppliers, ensuring sustainability beyond the project period enhanced
  • Farmer Capacity and Resilience Improved
  • Community ownership and participation in agricultural development strengthened.
  • 30 farmers were trained as seed banks committees and 600 farmers received improved seeds

 

This initiative reflects SOS Sahel Sudan’s commitment to empowering rural communities, improving agricultural resilience, and supporting farmers affected by displacement through sustainable, community‑driven solutions.
