Vector Control campaigns & Hygiene Support for Displaced Families in El Obeid
SOS Sahel Sudan in partnership with Save the Children (Consortium lead), continues to deliver WASH services to the war affected people in Obeid at the IDP camps and host communities. This support is part of life‑saving WASH, Shelter/NFI, and Protection interventions project aiming at reducing morbidity and mortality among children and their families affected by the Sudan crisis.
The project delivered a comprehensive WASH services detailed as follows:
✔ Vector Control Campaigns
Fogging and spraying operations (رش ضبابي ورزازي) were conducted to reduce the spread of Waste and water related disease by controlling its vectors for the sake of improving public health conditions in the camps and host communities.
✔ Solid Waste Management & Camp Clean‑Up
Comprehensive cleaning campaigns were implemented to remove solid waste and improve environmental hygiene in displacement sites and host communities.
✔ Distribution of Hygiene Kits for Adolescent Girls
Using tied selection criteria, 500 dignity kits were distributed to the most vulnerable adult girls at the IDP camps and host communities, ensuring they have the essential items needed to maintain their health and dignity.
👥 Project Beneficiaries
The project is supporting 8,000 households across displacement sites and host communities in El Obeid.
These interventions fall under the project:
“Providing comprehensive WASH, sanitation, hygiene, shelter/NFI, and protection services to reduce illness and mortality among children and their families.”
