Advancing Sustainable Agriculture and Conflict Resolution in White Nile State

SOS Sahel Sudan, believe that sustainable development is built on strong partnerships and local empowerment. We are proud to share one of the recent successful interventions as part of SIPRA project (Strengthening Inclusive Partnerships for Small-Holder Producers in the Rainfed Areas) in Rabak Locality, White Nile State.
Infrastructure and Capacity Building
- Communities of Gizira Aba and Al-Daham Al-Musiriya via their PAs (Producer Associations), were supported by grinding mills and oil machine respectively.
- On April 19 206, two PAs of Asalaya and Awlad Zariba were awarded participation certificates on seedbank management.
Strengthening Institutional Partnerships
- A joint delegation from the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) and the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources visited Al-Nouraniya and Al-Tadamon (A) producers in Al Jazeera Aba to monitor the ongoing activities.
Conference on Peaceful Coexistence and Natural Resource Management
- SOS Sahel supported Peaceful Coexistence and Natural Resource Management conference on landmark, which was organized by Al-Insaf Network. This network comprises of 14 producer The conference resulted in ending 2 years landmark conflict.
The Conference attended by different stakeholders, as shown below:
- The Ministry of Production and Economic Resources
- The University of White Nile and the University of Imam Al-Mahdi
- Local Security Authorities
- Pastoralist representatives
- Traditional leadership (Omdas, Sheikhs, and Nazirs)
Dr. Abdullah from Imam Al-Mahdi University, presented a technical paper on framework of conflict-sensitive resource management, which demonstrated how collaboration can drive stability and sustainable growth in Sudan’s agriculture sector.
