Launches entrepreneurship workshop to Empower Small-holder farmers in White Nile State, Rabak locality

SOS Sahel Sudan recently concluded a three-day workshop in Kosti, White Nile State, on Develop Entrepreneurial & Networking Capacity of Producer Associations, agro SMEs and agri-businesses potential for partnerships.

The project introduces innovative concepts and inclusive methodology designed to bridge the gap between small-holder farmers and the private sector; by fostering effective partnerships. The workshop aiming at increase productivity, improve value chain processes, and create sustainable job opportunities—specifically for women and youth.

Key Highlights of the Workshop:

  • Diverse Participation: The event brought together representatives from the Food Security and Livelihoods sector, UN agencies, international & national NGOs, academic researchers, and the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources.
  • Engagement with private sector: Producer associations from Rabak locality had space to discuss the potential win-win partnership with the small and medium enterprises/Agri-businesses (SMEs).
  • A Shared Vision: Participants committed to work for sustainable production and higher income for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The Way Forward: The project relies on a commitment from Agri-businesses to adopt inclusive business models, including improvement of production, productivity and value chain development. Moreover, relevant government bodies committed to provide enabling environment that allows these economic partnerships to thrive and remain sustainable.
