SOS Sahel Sudan and the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources Launch the First Agricultural Exhibition in White Nile State (Strengthening Inclusive Partnership for small-holders in Rain-Fed Area – SIPRA)
During August, SOS Sahel Sudan, in partnership with the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources, has officially launched the first Agricultural Exhibition in White Nile State-Rabak locality, marking a milestone event to showcase of modern farming technologies, strengthen producer associations, and promote market-oriented agricultural practices. This initiative highlights SIPRA commitment to boosting productivity, resilience, and sustainable rural development.
Well established 40 producer associations representing 4,920 smallholder farmers have participated in the exhibition. Likewise, Agricultural machinery companies, Value-addition equipment suppliers, line ministries, banks & financial institutions in addition to the Academia, research center, UN Agencies, INGOs and NNGOs participated as well.
Purpose of the Exhibition:
To strengthen understanding of agricultural capacities, opportunities and investment potential in White Nile State. Also, enabling effective and inclusive partnerships between small producers, agribusiness investors, financial institutions, academia and research bodies for more linkages and market access for the small holders.
The exhibition delivered the outcomes outlined below:
- Stronger market linkages between producers and buyers.
- New commercial partnerships and supply agreements.
- Improved coordination among public and private stakeholders.
- Increased visibility of producer associations and SMEs in White Nile State.
- Actionable recommendations to strengthen inclusive agricultural value chains.
Exhibition conclusion:
The exhibition was officially opened by Dr. Abdulsamea Musa Ibrahim, Minister of Production and Economic Resources. Speakers at the exhibition confirm the importance of strengthening small producers’ capacities through strategic partnerships with government institutions and local communities. They highlighted the exhibition as a crucial platform for showcasing products, sharing expertise and opening new market opportunities.
