Strengthening Inclusive Partnerships for Smallholder Producers in the Rainfed Area (SIPRA)– Rabak locality, White Nile state.
Innovative Concepts and a Holistic Approach to Empower Smallholder Farmers
Over the course of three impactful days in Kosti, White Nile State, SOS Sahel Sudan conducted a series of workshops under the project titled “Strengthening Inclusive Partnerships for Smallholder Producers in the Rainfed Area (SIPRA) –.” These trainings brought together a diverse group of stakeholders to explore the project’s vision, objectives, and methodology.
The planned training aims at fostering inclusive and effective partnerships between capable small-holder producer organizations and motivated private sector actors. Likewise, to boost production, enhance value chain processes, increase income, and create sustainable employment opportunities—especially for women and youth.
Participants included representatives from national and international NGOs, UN agencies, academic institutions, agricultural research bodies, the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources, agribusiness companies, and grassroots producer associations from Rabak locality.
Together, they leverage the project’s vision for a sustainable, high-yield rainfed sector that uplifts small-scale farmers and Agri-SMEs. The workshops emphasized the importance of large agricultural companies adopting inclusive models that integrate smallholder producers through production and marketing contracts, value chain development, and shared win-win economic opportunities.
This collaborative effort reflects a shared commitment to creating an enabling environment where smallholder farmers and Agri-enterprises can thrive—unlocking the full potential of Sudan’s rainfed agriculture.
