Royal Norwegian Embassy in Sudan visited SOS Sahel Sudan office

Her Excellency, Mrs. Therese Gheziel, the Ambassador of The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Sudan visited SOS Sahel Sudan office today 6th April 2021 and discussed the long standing partnership between the Norwegian Embassy and SOS Sahel Sudan for supporting poor and conflict affected people in South Kordofan.
Partnership between the Norwegian Embassy and SOS Sahel Sudan dated back to 2014 and the current project will continue to 2023. The impact of the project phase 1&2 is great and reflected on over 50,000 people have access to clean water, reduced conflict over natural resources, improved livelihoods of farmers and pastoralists through improved live skills of youth and women– improved para vet and animal husbandry and institutional capacity of CBOs.
The Ambassador stressed the importance for the Embassy to support NNGOs in Sudan to support their people, and hoping that the peace agreement, improved security and access will lead to good achievement of our project objectives. She also asked if SOS Sahel has gender sensitive policy which confirmed by the Director of SOS Sahel the existence of gender, safeguarding and other finance and HR policies. She appreciated the presentation and explanation by SOS Sahel team members and indicated that she will plan to visit project sites in the near future.
