SOS Sahel Sudan has implemented a vocational training workshop for 50 young males and females in South Kordofan State. This activity is part of the Norwegian-funded project, which is designed to promote livelihood options for conflict-affected communities in South Kordofan State. South Kordofan is an area that has long been affected by armed conflict and natural resource-based conflicts.

The project is planned to run between August 2023 and July 2026. It seeks to improve access to natural resources, livelihood, and food security and enjoy social peace and coexistence among conflict-affected communities.

As the project has four expected outcomes, this activity is aligned with Outcome (3), which states “Innovative Youth/women initiatives supported with diversified livelihood and peace interventions, small business start-up –packages, and income generation activities”. So, the vocational training workshop was implemented from 28th July – 11th September 2024. The training took place in Dilling, at the premises of the State Ministry of Social Welfare. It was implemented in collaboration with Dilling Technical College, University of Sudan. The participants received vocational training in different disciplines where each individual (male or female), had diverse options to select and join his/her favorable training.
