Native administration in South Kordofan State as elsewhere in rural areas of Sudan, plays a crucial role in the peaceful management of natural resources and solving resources-based conflict. For the progress of the implementation of the project entitled “Promoting conflict-affected community livelihood in South Kordofan State”, SOS Sahel Sudan provided furniture to native administration centers in Greater Dilling localities that include (Dilling, Habeela, Dellami, and El Qoz localities).

Institutional capacity building for native administration centers is a part of the project interventions done by SOS Sahel to achieve the outcome (1) that states “Natural resources management mechanisms sustained, through; strengthening management and institutional capacities of community-based organizations and traditional leaders”. It is a three-year project funded by the Norwegian Embassy in Khartoum and will be implemented through August 2023, and  July 2026.

Native admiration expressed their satisfaction with the in-kind support that they received from SOS Sahel, thanking Sahel and the Norwegian Embassy in Sudan for the genuine effort that they made to enhance their role in natural resource management and reduction of resource-based conflicts in this particular time. They also emphasized that this kind of intervention would not only strengthen traditional mechanisms of natural resources in South Kordofan but also be useful for ensuring the effective role of native administrations.
